One thing I noticed about Gilchrist,s inninings was that he never slowed down .Imagine Sachin getting to a great start;he would have certainly slowed down as he neared his century. The obsession with records is part of our psyche.Watch India play Bangladesh and you will certainly hear a Sanjay Manjrekar or a Sidhu analysing and microanalysing the number of centuries made by Sachin and Co against them in the past, their strike rate, the fours hit,the sixs hit,...... Shame to these commentators and us for letting them give us a false image of our true strenghth. I dare them to begin talking about their averages against top 5 teams abroad.Thay could call it the 'true skill average'.The teams should be WestIndies,England,Australia,NewZealand and South Africa(as the pitches in Srilanka and Pakistan are similar to the ones in India).
