why only sachin... why did everyone of 11 players fail in all 21 matches...
and by the way, i did do something on cricinfo as u suggested...
tendulkar played 36 finals (out of a career of 384 matches until now) till now at an average of 47.96 (career average 44.05) with 4 hundreds and 9 fifties as well as 17 wickets.
ponting played 38 finals ( out of just 280) at an average of 41.93 (less than career average of 43.03) with 2 hundreds and 7 fifties
gilchrist 31 finals ( out of 268) at average of 39.79 ( career 36.00) with 3 tons and 5 fifties.
lara a9 (of 299) with an average of 28.16 (career 40.48) with 1 ton and 2 fifties.
grow up guys... tendulkar gives the most of all players everytime... or atleast till a couple of years back... the reason why he is unable to win matches is because he plays with 10 other fools and plays for a nation of 1 billion people who derive more pleasure in flaking their heroes.
agreed...sachin had not played such a good knock as gilchrists of late and may never play again... but i will tell you of one that is probably the best ODI innings in history...
the 142 at sharjah against australia...
that innings was such beauty... just for the way sachin batted... pure class... not power like a gilchrist, hayden or dhoni...
forget the man of matches, man of series... that was the only time in history of ODI that an award of 20,000 pounds was announced even before sachin was out for him providing the best entertainment in the history of the game...

Sorry mate the best one day knocks were Ponting in the 03 final and Gilchrist in the 07 final. Making a statement in the World Cup Finals when it really matters as opposed to some pidly tournament in Sharjah. There is no comparison.

for all of australias hattrick... remember none of their players came with a player of a tournament till this edition.
they played as a team and won as a team.
see india.
sachin performance is directly related to india's performance.
1996 - sachin blasts 523 - india goes to semis
1999 - around 250 runs - india gets back after super sixes
2003 - blasts 673 - goes into finals
2007 - only 60 runs - return after first legs.
what are the others doing... the 10 remaining idiots are the ones who should be sacked...

Sachin is the problem in the Indian team. As Greg Chappel put it the other day "I dont know why Sachin is still playing; obviously not for making the team win or score runs" May be for product endorsement. Take some clue from McGrath and retire gracefully before Sachin is kicked out from the team

Sri,
AZHAR never allowed Sachin to get credit for what he did. Azhar called shots. The reason why Sachin was always asked to open was
1) He played well in opening slot. 2) Azhar, Jadeja, Mongia and many more who were not caught in match fixing could change the match once Sachin got caught.
Sachin player 12 years or some under Azhar. Azhar has played 334 one day internationals.
1)How many were fixed? 2) How many were those where Sachin played well but AZHAR FIXED THEM ALL?
I am not trying to save Sachin. But atleast make Sachin's fans and followers realize and fight for him. They do not know the real reasons.

Yeah Man! Thats what exactly I mean. He is there for creating (Personal)Records. Tell me in how many Finals did he lead India to Victory out of 36 he Played??? See Gilli, even at 98 and 149, he tried to go for massive hits, the first one led him to Century and of course the second was a failure. I am sure that all centuries that you have listed by Aussies have made their Team lift the Cup.(I didnt verify any records for saying this) Sachin used to defend when he just crosses 90.He used to utilize 20 to 30 valuable balls (in Final !!) for getting 10 runs required for Century. If he had not done that, the results could have been more fruitful. Okay no doubt about that.He is one of the greatest batsmen around the world right now.Even people who watch him closely (Players of Australia & other teams) themselves admitted that he is Great. But what we cry for is that he never led India into a Final Victory except that Famous One in Sharjah against Aussies. Sachin thus has remained as a (selfish) player who plays for his (Personal) records.
