Prem Panicker is absolutely right in asking whether messrs Dar and Bucknor are the best officials the ICC can put forward. Their failure to provide some basic umpiring was exposed and the game ended in a farce. Dar's effort in warning Michael Clarke for running on the pitch was a joke after he had faced his first ball. Continual lack of professionalism by the ICC is exposing the holes in the game and it's long term future. Malcolm Speed and Percy Sonn have much to answer. But as always they will head back to the plus surrounds of the ICC headquarters in Dubai and forget the farcical end to the final.

You cant blame the ICC alone for the lack of quality umpires. What has the BCCI done to create quality umpires in India? There isnt one international level umpire in India.
