Lack of commitment, fighting spirit, negative body language, playing for self recores, to cement place for next matches, sponsers, poor fielding, trying to expose each on the field, promoting groupism etc.. Has coach told instructed for all these?? chappell's big mistake was he treated all players alike, equally and push the players from comfort zone. many superstars were taken their placed for granted.... winning and defeat depends on performance of XI players on the field irrepective of coach, captain, pitch and conditions. Abhijeet - Test wins in SA and WI are much bigger than the circus that is going on in West Indies right now. The fact is that Indian system does not produce talent which can perform in any soil other than that in the sub-continent barring the exceptions which happened last year. Just look at the top 6 teams in the world and compare them with what India has - ageing superstars who kept their place due to lack of new talent and records against depleted teams. Our talent pool in cricket is a reality check of what India is as a sports nation ... and that is that we are a big zero. Let alone Chappel - no one can make a difference. Not the very least this scumbag called Sunil Gavaskar.

Who was in the Indian team which won the world cup in 1983? Who was in the 1976 test series winning team in WI? Who held the record for a long time for being the highest run scorer in Tests?

Who was in the 1976 test series winning team in WI? >> India lost that series ( won one test and lost two ) ; Vishy and Mohinder were the heroes of that match. World cup 1983 - again Mohinder was the hero. Gavaskar looked completely listless in the finals...and yes , he was the highest scorer for a long time and he was extremely talented. As a person - Gavaskar was always considered mean and political.
