I used to admire this man. Thought him to be an astute thinker of the game and an articulate critic, besides being a great player. But, now I think Mr Sunil Gavaskar has lost his marbles. If he's so damned clever, why has he not done anything for Indian cricket. The fact is, he was the first of the superstars, bigger than the game and always on the lookout for his own benefit. No wonder he doesn't find any fault with Sachin, Sourav and the others of his tribe.

You may be right about Gavaskar, but i think we should be ready for constructive criticism even if it is from the person that you don't like.
I think he has a point in this topic. Doesn't matter how much skilled Chappell is, indian team went from top to botton in his 18 months tenure. So there is no point in brining him back for any job in india.
Botton line, Chappel doesn't know how to coach people in this sub-continent.

I respectfully disagree with you man.
How can you ignore the fact that Gavaskar batted for whole day and made 36 runs? Is that the best interest of the team? He stood there to satisfy his big ego.

What personal benefit would he gain by blocking the crease for 60 overs and making 36 runs??

you are damn right this is the man who bred the breed of cricketeers who have put personal glory greater than the team. If any thing this man needs to shut up. The tragedy is you didnt have the balls to stick up neck anytime for the sake of the game and one man who dared to call the bluf of some of the indian pigmies have got the goat of the king this tribe. Long live chappell thank god you happened to indian cricket the nation has woken up. the fact is despite their personal records they are all a bunch of Loosers They dont have the balls win.
