It is shocking to read this column. Wonder whats wrong with Gavaskar. To put all the blame for the defeat on chappel is ridiculously wrong. Does gavaskar mean that sachin, SEHWAG, ETC could not bat due to chappel?
Instead of owning up the shamefull defeat the board made chappel the scapegoat. If chappel was to become the coach of Australia they will become more powerfull.

If chapell really is capable of making australia more powerful, then he would have been made aussies coach long back.
