Let me clear the doubt people are having that gavaskar does not want to coach . Please check out the fact. Last time also he had come forward to coach the indian team but on one condition that he would be answerable only to president of India & not the " bunch of jokers " i.e. BCCI et al. He knows how the indian cricket functions , the politics involved, the pressure from politicians & the heavyweights . Hence even if he would like to give a proper shake to indian cricket he would not be allowed by all these people.

winning and defeat depends on performance of XI players on the field irrepective of coach, captain, pitch and conditions.
