Gavaskar and his rants
by Vimal Kansal on Apr 23, 2007 05:17 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

There goes this stinking mouth again! As long as Greg Chappel was in India, this snake called 'Gavaskar' was hiding and the moment Greg is outside this country, he is spitting venome. Gavaskar has all along been the greatest scourge of Indian cricket. When he was a player he was responsible for playing politics with the likes of Bedi, Mohinder Amarnath and Kapil Dev. Now again he is at it. Insatead of putting blame squarely on coach, why don't we read anything from him questioning the attitude of some ofthe players. Despite Tendulkar's consistent failures, let alone, this world cup, he had been asking Tendulkar to keep playing till WC 2011. Why can't he question Tendulkar? Was Greg wrong in questioning Tendulakr's attitude when despite repeated advise and instructions from the coach, Tendulkar did not want to play at any position other than opener? Shouldn't a player of Tendulkar's stature be willing to do anything for the team? Then the attitude of this guy called 'Sehwag'. It was reported in press that on one specific occasion during one test match in recently concluded test series in SA, one day before the day Sehwag was supposed to bat, Sehwag asked Greg to come to the nets in the morning at 6 am to get some practice. While Greg turned up with his assistant, our own beloved 'Veeru' was sleeping with his wife and later on when asked by Greg, he just replied with casualness 'I did not feel like it'. So what is wrong if Greg has questioned the attitude of these senior players. Why can't we just accept the fact that these are a bunch of spoiled brats who have been spoiled by too much money and the prostitutes of Bollywood (or shall I call Brothelwood).

And in the end, to the likes of Gavaskar and his stooges : now that our rotten political cricket system has gotten rid of Greg, can somebody show the enough guts and take charge and promise to the nation that 'come what may, when we go down under this year, we will win a series'

You got to be blind if you can't see what damage likes of Tendulkar and Gavaskar are bringing to Indian cricket. You go back and collect all the innings that Tendulkar has played in last 3-4 years, sum the number of runs he has scored and divide them by the number of innings. That way you will get the average number of runs scored by him. Don't show up on this forum if it is less than 50

Vimal Kansal is perfectly right. Gavaskal played till he was literally booted and booed out of Indian cricket. Tendulkar is another Gavaskar in the making. Even his own state booed him when he played in Bombay sometime ago. Can't he see the writing on the wall? He has a couple of restaurants I am told. The head chef's position will do him some good. Gavaskar knows better to stuff foreign currency in his club locker than commenting on cricket. In fact, rediff should not publish articles of Gavaskar on it's site.

Vimal, you have made a shame of yourself by making the above statement. Before teachin me average calculation you should have come back with it that is readily available on cricinfo. Secondly it goes to show how cricket illiterate you are since even the greatest of the great players donot have 50 average in ODIs. Thirdly if you have little bit of shame left by making the above comment go and suicide for writing against the national gems called Sachin and Sunny and ponder what your mother state has contributed towards the country in cricket till date..loser
