Gavaskar's double faced rant
by Shash on Apr 22, 2007 11:04 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

It seems Gavaskar has been hit where it hurts him most %u2013 his protégé Sachin has been axed.

He would always make light of Sachin%u2019s dismissal or his poor form, and find some excuse to explain it. But now he has had to shed his boring diplomatic façade to cry foul.

It is not to say that whatever that rogue Chappell did was right. In fact Chappell%u2019s shenanigans from day one spelt nothing but disaster for Indian cricket.

Never mind whatever was happening with Indian cricket, Gavaskar chose to keep quiet all these days because his protégé was not affected.

Gavaskar was also well aware that some senile scamps in the BCCI (with whom he is chummy with) blindly supported Chappell. But now it is a different story. Sachin has been excluded, and rightly so. The Mumbai man is unable to digest that, and he has started bewailing.

Anyway, BCCI is being run by incompetent people like Pawar who have to depend on crooks and fools around him to run the show; and when there is a coterie of crooks and fools there can be only one thing %u2013 chaos and downfall.

Chief Selector Vengie tells media that BCCI Chief asked him to select the %u2018best team%u2019, where as the moron Niranjan Shah had told him that a %u2018young%u2019 was needed to be chosen. Is the squad chosen %u2018young%u2019 or %u2018best%u2019 by any stretch of imagination?

But the shrewd Gavaskar studiously avoids blaming the incompetent Pawar and his cronies because some of them are either from Mumbai or western region.

This short statured Mumbaikar does not mention the name of the accomplice of that schmuck Chappell %u2013 Rahul Dravid. Dravid first licked Chappell%u2019s boots (after he got captaincy by default) to save his chair; now he is shamelessly sucking up on BCCI Chief to keep his captain%u2019s position.

Frankly, Dravid is an excellent batsman but as a captain he is utterly useless. His incompetence as a captain has been exposed umpteen number of times. But neither Gavaskar nor the malicious, senile BCCI people are willing to speak about it.

After WC debacle, Dravid should have been stripped of his captaincy but, no, he is still there because he is willing to be an accomplice to his masters%u2019 tricks and charade.

India has always been let down and destroyed by the selfish agenda driven bootlicking unpatriotic people. In Chappell%u2019s case, India repeated itself.

Experts view on Ganguly
When Ganguly was dropped post the Cahppel -email episode, Sidhu, Jadeja and other "experts" thought it was vendetta and victimisation. Chappell had always maintained that it was becuse of poor form and poor attitude. Now that Ganguly's 130-ball 66 put India out of the World Cup, Sidhu and Jadeja have veered round to the view that Ganguly's innings was bad. Now Mr. Jadeja and Sidhu, can you accept that you were wrong and Chappell was right and that Ganguly has an attitude problem. I can understand poor form but nobody should tolerate selfishness in a team sport at the highest levels.

From the Guardian on Ganguly's 66
"The South Africans think Jacques Kallis is slow and plays for himself? Have they seen Ganguly score 66 off 130 balls against Bangladesh? I have, and haven't been able to sleep since. Kallis is a bullet train by comparison" indeed Mr Ayaz, I saw that too, and I think that it may be the worst innings of the World Cup so far.

Ganguly slant
To me one of the greatest mysteries in Indian cricket is the continued hype around Ganguly - who in my view and in the view of people who have worked with him such as Chappell,is the most overrated cricketer of all time. By increasing pressure on Dravid and Yuvraj and forcing them to accelerate and throw away their wickets, his snail-paced 66 was the most obvious reason for India's exit. If you look at his records, his centuries have come against Kenya, Namibia, Bgdesh, and England when they were a very ordinary side in the late 90s. How many hundreds does he have against Aus - just one in 15 years of international cricket!!! So what oh what, is the reason for this perpetual bias?

Not the mos diabolitic of decision
Sachin being VC is failed with bat during WC. IF he had any problem with dravid or chappell why he did not approach the board instead of media? And again why telegraph is always comes with headlines with against dravid ? Whatever happens to ganguly it is projected the is b%u2019cuz of dravid? How can a ganguly%u2019s performance helped the team ?? His 129-ball 66 against Bangladesh, 114-ball 89 against Bermuda, and 23-ball 7 against Sri Lanka conveyed the impression that he was more concerned with making runs for himself than the team. Poor fielding, poor running between wkt, and unwilling to take singles not rotating strke etc.. Many cricket / media expert are telling dravid influencing the sehwag why reliable sources ?? sehwag is highest run getter with better average and strike rate? He is highest rungetter and scored 100 in WC while no other batsman including yuvraj did not score 100 against Bermuda also When ganguly was captain, laxman and kumble were out of team even after good performance which ended odi career of laxman and kumble. Fair, but stop camouflaging have to keep emotions and respect for individual players out of the way . Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar have been rested while the other players have been dropped

Why can't you see, if Ganguly had got out sooner , there would have been no pressure on Dravid and Yuvraj to accelerate and they would have stayed andgot the runs
