Do not play the blaming game
by on Apr 23, 2007 11:52 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

We are boasting that Sachin , Dravid & ganguly are all time greats and do not need a coach to teach them Batting skills, similarly Baji, & kumble the art of spin bowling why then do we need a coach?
Did not gavaskar who vields considerable clout in the BCCI come forward to impart them the skills to be united and build confidence levels?
The fact remains that we did not play well. Not that we are a bad team. We did not play well when it mattered most. Accept failure gracefully without trying to blame the coach. A person who has played the game at highest levels for long should realise that the Coach is not playing the game in the middle

We were good in hockey once more teams came in our wining percentage came down, once astro turf was introduced we were finished. Same thing happening in cricket now. Skill is not the end all now in any sport. Strategy, fitness, mind games etc is more important now. Roger Federer reserves his best for Andy Roddick, Indians have no strategy whatsoever, they seem to think skill is all it takes. GC was a wrong choice no doubt but the blame lies more with the players.
