I was surprised to see Nel showing up better than McGrath and realized that you are using the average instead of the total points. For MVP total points should be used and not divided by the number of matches.

i am totaly agree with u if a palyer wouldnt be playing much matches is not the problem of other players that shows that he is not good even to be in playing 11 so just consider the total points besides considering the avarage.
