We have, the Tehalka Team, policy for betterment of performance of team as per performance yardstick and more transparency in selection process. We want this message to reach Media as well as BCCI at the earliest :
We invite your kind suggestion, and also forward this to cricket lovers, and to your friends for suggestions.
1) Every new player should get chance to play whole series instead of one inning.
2) At the end of the series, a batsman/Keeper/all rounder must have at least 40 Runs average of total innings. That means, if a player has played 5 innings, his minimum score on the series must be 200 ( 5 x 40 ). If one remain not out in any particular inning below 40 runs, it will be construed as 40 for performance evaluation. If this is not achieved he should be dropped for subsequent tour and new player should be picked from the 30 reserve player. Then the dropped player can again compete in the domestic cricket for national selection.
3) The above is not applicable for specialist bowler.
4) A bowler should have record of minimum 2 wickets in 10 overs not given away more than 50 runs in 10 overs. The computation for the bowlers skill should be rated for whole series on this formula.
As such, if a bowler plays 4 one day Intl.. and bowled 40 overs, he must have in his record at least 8 wickets, having not given away more than 200 runs. Else he should be rested for subsequent tour and new bowler should be selected from the 30 reserve players.

The 'Tehalka' team doesn't know how to spell 'Tehelka'? Sorry sir, but your suggestions are a little 'halka' on sense.

It might look good on the paper..but practically no one can achieve that sort of consistency under different conditions..
Instead, for a particular - match series..look which player has the right attitude towards the game..whether fielding, bowling, batting...his approach, body language everything..and performance ofcourse. If he has all the necessary skills, even if he doesn't score in an innings....continue him for the next series..
