Captaincy Stats
by Prasad Shastri on Apr 07, 2007 11:53 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

To put things in perspective, out of the 21 Test victories,by Ganguly, 9 are against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. Under Ganguly, India lost a test series to WI after winning the first test, drew test series with Australia, Pakistan and Zimbabwe after winning the first test and losing the next, thus failing to win 4 test series after being one up, failed to win one-day chaimpionship ending up losers in 9 finals including the last world cup. If Ganguly is really such a good aggressive leader, we would not have been a mediocre side and would have not remained potential champions but been actual champions. Undoubtedly, Ganguly was a good captian, indeed India's most successful captian, but please do not tell me that he was a great captian and a great leader, Rahul Dravid is as bad or as good a captain as him. Since Rahul Dravid strives to be politically correct in his behavior, in his speech, so when India loses we say that he is not agressive and pales in comparision with Ganguly's flamboyant attitude. Guys, give Dravid a break. Much has been said about whether Dravid should have opted to filed first against Bangladesh after winning the toss. Tell me with an aggregate of almost 50000 one day runs between the 7 Indian Batsmen, should it matter whether we bat first or second against Bangladesh, 99 times out of 100 we would back ourselves to win against Bangladesh, whetehr we bat first or second, whomsoever is the Captain, the tragedy was Bangladesh made that 1 time out of 100 on that day, It is just a game guys, if you are a true cricket lover, step back and enjoy the WC matches which are being played.

guy tell u what??i have a feeling that tere jat ka is a loser in life hiding under multi user names without guts to reveal his true identity. It is not a secret that he is from Mumbai but like his bretheren, he has no balls to admit it. Just look at the id he has choosen, it is very clear hat he clearly has doubts about his true father, hence all this false bravado under a disgusting name . Let us say he is just another Marata loser with a serious inferiority complex and a lingering doubt about his true origins

Statistics like 50000 runs scored by our top 7 batsmen looks good on paper. If Stats were the only criteria we should have been awarded the cup and no one had to fly out to the Caribbean. To quote a famous sportscaster here (US) "That's why we play the GAME". Also, good teams do not lose easy match-ups.
