It seems rather weird that Dravid is retained as captain. One of the major reasons of our loss was poor captaincy.
1. Not giving Munaf the new ball when clearly he was our best bowler.
2. Poor field placements.
3. Sachin is a proven performer in the opener's slot. Why tinker with his batting position?
4. Preferring Harbhajan over Kumble when clearly Harbhajan was not looking as threatening as Kumble.
Also, his form as a batsman has not been great off late. Next three tour are relatively easy tours. We will beat Bangladesh, Ireland very easily. In England the honors will be even. So, everyone will be happy and the inefficient captain will continue.

1. Agreed..Munaf was our best and should have been allowed to share the new ball with Zaheer
2.Right again but then with useless statues like Saurav and Agarkar what can one do??
3.Totally wrong..Sachin, coming in at 2 down cant line up to ordinary fast bowlers like Fernando, imagine what he could have done with the new ball facing Vaas and Malinga and others..

Munaf was bought as first change and he faired very well in that position, so why pressurise him by asking him to ball with new ball.
secondly i 2 years sachin was a complete failure in opening slot(average of 17 runs) thats the reason he was dropped to 1 down dor better stability.
Regarding fielding, we never field badly when ground fielding is concerned, it were only the chatches that were dropped and for that captain cannot be blamed for fielding placement.
Kumble's performance against SL was pathetic (past history) his average was on very higher side against them, hence bhajji was preferred.
Dravid should be tested again atleast for these 3 series, maybe the defeat in WC would make him more agressive, who knows?/
Why are we talking about Kumble's past performance against SL instead of looking at overall part performance against which Harbhajan is no way comparable?
We have lot of bias towards Bhajji and he was always the first choice at the beginning of tour irrespective of how good Kumble performed in the previous tour. When everyone was blasted by South Africa Kumble bowled like Championm but we forgot immediately and prefer Harbhajan.
Honestly speaking, there were always two spinners one spinner was always given the step mother treatment.
AS per records spinners like Shivlal Yadav, Venkatapathi Raju played better than the likes of Maninder singh and Ravi Sastry but selectors always preferred the latter. Any one who responds to this, please check the performance records if we need to go by the records.
