well actually there is no solution. if the board and selectors are going to play politics and get in bed with the hero-class players, the end result will continue to be a stinking mess just as it was in WC 07.
I read a column last week which made a very pointed and critical point: in an elite program such as Australia's, you do not get to play for the national team once your performance level drops. Period. End of conversation. No questioning the coach, or the captain, or the selectors. And that is how you ensure success, that is how you ensure that you field the best team in the land.
There is an old saying in American sports, There is no "I" in TEAM. But in India we have 11 I's and no team. Everyone is pulling their separate way. The result is there, sadly, for the world to see. And instead of being ashamed of their disgusting performance, our heros are pointing fingers at their leadership. Makes me sick to the stomach.
