The writer mentioning the possibility of Marathi biase or for that matter, any regional biase comming into play when dealing with Tendulkar is in very poor taste.
It is a not such a serious matter if the the forumers such allegations. But for an article on rediff to raise questions about the integrity of the BCCI officials and supporters is extremely irresponsible.
If Pawar or Vengsarkar were to be so blindly biased towards Maharashrians as the writer mentions, did they not have a more justifiable opportnuity of including Ramesh Powar in the Indian side? In fact, a big section of the writers on the forum had supported Ramesh Powar's inclusion cutting accross the regional barriers!
This is not an article which would do rediff proud!

Well, i have nothing agaist Mumbai but it is very well spot on and wait and see, about the last point he mentioned about captaincy..
Sachin will take over from Dravid.
Also, to correct you about R. Power, they made a mistake of not taking him but they don't want million people crying about dropping Kumble or H. Singh. They were diplomatic.

Haven't watched Karan Thapar interviewing Vengsarkar? Not picking up Powar was unfortunate. But picking up Pwar also meant leaving out Kumble, atleast the more sensible&effective bowler than Harbhajan! They won't leave Bhajji out you know, the'mafia'won't et it happen!

majority of indians want sachin out of the team
sachin gave joy when his contributions mattered to the team......can't recall any such performance in recent past. selctions shud be based on the merit of performance & going by that simple & universal yardstick......sachin doesn't deserve a place in the team with his current form.
And don't u remeber the innings mentioned in the article...sachin was selfishness exemplified. He wanted to avoid octroi on the free ferrari...he was greed exemplified. And with the number of times he is getting his stumps broken....he's a lame duck personified !
Nobody races an unfit & old horse just coz it ran well in its prime.
