Chappel's resignation
by shaiju antony on Apr 04, 2007 10:06 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Those who all feel sorry for chappel are really dumb indians. The way we people react is so shameful. We are so emotional. Till now chappel was bad. Now that he has resigned, he has become a good man. Shame on us. Its Chappel himself who is responsible for the sorry state of indian cricket. We cant blame the seniors. Any person whose job is threatened, will feel insecure. When they were doing well, why meddle with their batting order. Giving chances to youngsters is good, but the seniors too should be accomodated properly. After all they too have done their bit for the game. What chappel is doing is just plain politics. First he had issues with ganguly, then with the rest of the team. He is blaming every other person in the team to save his own skin. He can be a good politician instead of a good coach. Anyway my best wishes to him for the future. Don't blame Sachin for Indian teams failure. India is not a one man team. There are 10 other players who earn money and play the game. They should be held equally responsible. Sachin only had two bad games and India went out. If we see the matches preceding it, he had scored runs. Its not always possible to score a ton in all the one day matches. If Sachin had been a foreign cricketer, we would have always admired him idolised him and would have criticised him less. Thats the psyche of we indians. There is no escaping from the fact.

Sachin has become a selfish cricketer offlate and he is playing only for his benefit. We should stop glorifying him for his past deeds and take a look at his consistancy. He is past his prime time and he should leave the game.

Other senior players are having a feeling that they are indispensible and became overconfident. They think they are quite capable of hitting the ball for six or four and lost the ability to milk runs in the way of singles. Impressive lads like Kaif and Raina were unfortunately left out.

Agree with one of your statements - "Shame on us". Certainly shame on you.
Chappel was never bad. He tried to make indian sportsstars spotspersons nad was outcast by them. Half of the team should be in the commentry box and not on the cricket ground.
Still I feel that Greg is lucky. Atleast he is going back alive.
