Almost all the comments in this section is towards one direction of Zee TV's move on promotiong Cricket, specifically after the Indian Team's poor performance in WC 2007. Most the comments are with the expectation of some hope for better cricket in future.
I certainly agree that this is a good move, but we should not fail to note down the following points:
1. In any business/industry, when there is a monopoly enjoying the entire business prospects, naturally new players will come in to share the business. BCCI is making money in the cricket business (errrr..Sports). Zee TV's move is to share this profitable business?
2. BCCI will definately reject the proposal from Zee TV since it may not like any new entery in to their business scope. In that case Zee TV will have a parrellel set up with many youn tallented players, but those players will not be selected for national team because of ego clash of these two institutions. Thus there is possibility of wasting the young tallernts.
3. Zee TV being a profit oriented organisation, will try to earn money through advertisements and pay the players part of it and retain their margin. When it involves margin to them, definately, it will result in all decisions of improving cricket will have at the back of the mind, making money and it may become like another BCCI?
The above are the negative side of the Zee TV's move and if the above points will be proved to be wrong, then definately it is a good move by Zee TV to promote cricket in India.

Just another madness Mr Chandra. Invest these 100 crores to buid a hospital for poor, provide drinking water to thousands of villages, sponsor education of some poor upper cast children- we have enough of madness on cricket. Why add more?

Is the BCCI team our national team. I still remember Jagmohan Dalmia once quoting that "This is BCCI team, not India's team".

I agree with u in the sense that their prime motive may be money, but it would certainly add value to the game. I mean the standard of the game will improve, as these games will be aired live on Television )of course Zee Sports, it would be) and youngsters will get exposure. And Yes, I also fear it will create a parallel body, which would be the worst case scenario.
