Why was Chappel quiet earlier
by on Apr 03, 2007 07:35 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

If thesenior players lacked enthusiasm, if they were unfit for good fielding, WHY DID HE KEEP CHAPPEL keep QUIET EARLIER , HE wanted to just speak to his post and get all the money and now that we are going to Sack him he has started whining . We want a tough coach a leader liek Dravid who owed up responsibility even though he wsnt entirely to blame and not a whiner like Chappel who keep quiet when the times are good and wants to blame others when the going is not good

first of all whoever u r u just does not seem to get it right. If Dravid has owned up the responsibility then why doesn't he step down from captaincy and retire and go so that I can take over the captaincy. Secondly ppl who know Indian cricket and its associated politics will know the reason why chappel kept quiet. U r a child it seems. don't just mess around over here better go and do ur homework

Well Dravid is not resigning because there is no alternative then the tried and failed ones like Ganguly Sehwag Tendulkar ...
Secondly We got Chappel from Australia because we wanted a person who would be above the politics associated with Indian Cricket which does nto seem to have happened so it is better to get Gavaskar or Srikant as the coaches right
Cause why should we even invest in Foreigners if they are not going to bring about any changes
Please think logically before speaking and do not rely on rhetoric

dude, ur logic of retaining Dravid will work only against weaker teams and that too is doubtful. The whole of India(except for a few Kannadiga jokers) has accepted Dravid as a meek reserved person who is just not upto the mark as far as captaincy is concerned. In team meetings when we raised our voices he could not justify his point and instead chose to go with the flow. What sort of captain is he? He might be a Wall in batting which is also of late developing huge cracks but as far as captaincy is concerned it's not his cup of tea. It purely belongs to me. Just bcoz BCCI is full of politics he can save his chair else in any other country he would have been shown the door.

It is laughable that you refer to Dravid as Weak
In terms of Mental strength if there is a cricketer in India it is only Dravid who can compare to an Australian
look at the final match we had
Ganguly threw away his wicket running down the track, Yuvraj was running and nervous , Tendulkar was not himself , Sehwag did not know whether to attack or not , Uthapa Dhono lesser said the better
Throughout there was only One FACE -- One Image -- One Cricketer -- One MAN -- shown defiantly fighting -- going down hitting 4 fours -- asking for at least one more MAN -- THAT WAS RHUL DRAVID -- The MAN referred to as The WALL cause there is not other defence we have other than the Wall . All we have is Offence which never fires
So please give me one alternative and I will agree with you

It is not for Dravid to decide if there is an alternative to him as captain. That is the selectors job. Clearly Yuvraj is a future captain. He should be made the vice captain now so that he can take over in 2 years.

As for Yuvraj only comment is , the Indian team is chosen first and then the captain
So I doubt in 2 years time Yuvrag will even be in the team
The only alternative i can see now is Dinesh Kartick who has a long way to go still

I think Mr Ganguly is quiet now
Ganguly Sir -- it is mental resolve that is required not shouting in the dressing room
