I believe the main reason for our team's failure in the World Cup is us, the overwhelmed cricket fanatics. Because such sky rocketting expectations we had, the fear of not loosing crept into the minds of our cricketers. And this fear can have a deadly effect as we have seen now.
I'm sure everyone of us would have gone through the all important SSLC board exams in our lives. Now, during this, if our parents or friends had exerted a lot of pressure on us saying that we have to do well and it's a matter of their pride, if they keep telling to theirs friends that their son/duaghter will one of the top scorers in the state, when the exams are still not over, tell me how many of us would have succeeded in the exams?? The pure intesity of such pressure woul get us and we would have failed miserably. On the other hand, if our parent had just said to us, go there and give it your best shot and whatever the results are will be accepted whole heartedly, then it would have been a different game altogether.
So, in essence, I think we Indians should detach ourselves from Cricket and spare the cricketers from this sky high expectations. By doing so, I'm sure there'll be a day in near future when they will bring back the world cup for us.

our team can progress in following ways: 1. Avoid the medias to highlight the indian cricket team Just give importance as any other game. 2. Players should be given packages according to the performance. 3. No zone wise selections. 4. Give the captaincy to consistently performing player and his deputy a youngster, so that he can make a future. 5. Dont give star value to any players, this will harm both player and people. 6. In domestic cricket, make pressure games ie for eg: say to a team team A has scored 250 runs in 50 overs and u are 4 wickets down for 50 runs in 20 overs . So start from 21st over.(Give them scenarios)
