I don't remember him playing Cricket even at the national level. These pen-pushers behave like dictators and are responsible for the current state of Indian Cricket. Team management and selection has become a joke. They ruined the career of Irfan patel by forcing him to become a front order batsmen. The same time they undermined the confidence of stock players such as Saurav Ganguly, Tendulkar, Yuvraj, Laxman, and Karthick by experimenting with the batting order. Their decision to sack Saurav Ganguly, a successful captain with a meek Dravid has failed. Greg Chappel saw a yes man in Rahul Dravid who could not express his feeling in or off the fields. His choice of opening bowlers, poor bowling changes at wrong times, poor field placement, etc. indicate poor leadership from the captain. Often at crucial moments, Darvid was lost of ideas and seen staring at his shoe laces. He failed to lift the team to the meet the expectation of the fans and this team looked very similar to the Indian team at the first world cup. It's a good news that Gerg Chappel has resigned. I think the captain should follow suit and own the responsibility for the debacle at the World Cup. I admire Tendulkar for standing up on behalf of the team. It's time to look to future and we should look for a young captain. Yuvraj Singh would be my choice for the future captain. Another good idea would be to appoint Yuvraj as Vice Captain under Tendulkar or Ganguly for a short period with plan to appoint him as captain later.
