Best and Worst Captain.
by anurag rai on Apr 17, 2007 10:24 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Best---- Kapil Dev -won the world cup.
Worst---Rahul Dravid- Got us kicked out.

Simple reason.....if we credit Kapil Dev for winning the world cup.We should blame Dravid for getting us out.

Best-- Ganguly--we won championstrophy
Worst--Dravid-- We were kicked out again at home.

How long we need to losse under LOOSER Dravid to get rid of him???

Sorry folks dont necessarily agree with you. 1 performance on the plate doesnt make u a good or a bad captain. You should look at the conditions, players available to the existing captain, form of the players. By that logic Mohammad Azharuddin was a wonderful captain. He got us many victories. And dont forget the following :

1st overseas test series win - Windies 2006
One day series win overseas - Pakistan 2006
One day series win against Lanka - Home 2005/2007
One day series win against England - Home 2006
One day series win against windies - Home 2007.
Test series win against lanka - Home 2005-06
1st test win in South Africa - South Africa 2006.

All of it in only 18 months - KUDOS RAHUL DRAVID.

Thats what statistics dont always say the truth. Dravid is a good captain and will improve only from here on. Guys get ready to win in Bangladesh and England and all u folks will mince ur words

Every captain wins and losses- thats what i have been saying. THE CAPTAIN IS AS GOOD AS HIS TEAM. I am not saying that Dravid is the greatest but he has the potential to be great Mr.Mohan and statistics dont reflect the true value of a treasure and thats what Rahul Dravid is. THREE CHEERS FOR RAHUL AND I WILL WISH HIM ALL THE LUCK AND ALSO THE NEW INDIAN TEAM.

Stat tells different story

JG Wright      130      68      56&nbs p;     6/0      52.30
GS Chappell      62      32      27&nb sp;     3/0      51.61
       &n bsp;                    & nbsp;

SC Ganguly             146      76      65 &nbs p;    5      52.05%
R Dravid              65      33       28       4       50.77%
The difference of odi wnnin average is only 1% when compared to succss of ganguly & john AND dravid and chappell Ganguly had advantage of leading team for maximu nos of matches and 5 yr lengthier period and 31 wins against weaker team dravid only captian for 16 months and difference in winning average is only 1.22%

include the match which were either cancelled r not played

Ganguli- 76 from 141 = 53.90%

Dravid - 33 from 61 =54.09%

J/Wright-68 from 124= 54.83%

Chappel-32 from 59=54.23%

and dravid and cahppell did not even completed 2 yrs
IN NDTV big cricket poll survey %u2013 which was conducted by among 15 state criciket associations 80% ppl voted for dravid to retain captaincy
In survey of IBNCNN
Should Rahul Dravid be replaced as the captain of the Indian team?
And the answer was in the negative with 86 per cent saying he should not be removed with only nine per cent saying that he should be replaced.
Indian Express voting poll more 50% voted dravid for captaincy.
Drvid has support of gavaskr, kapildev, sanidpatil, snajay manjrekar, Aunshman gaikead, kiran more , chetan chouhan, GR vishwanath, S venkat rahbavan etc%u2026
Dravid played under captaincy of sahcin and ganguly, he gave 100% commitment to team, socred runs when team was required against strong bowling attacks under pressure, building partnerships and stayed at wkt to finish match. Dravod dod promote groupism or HE TRUESTED SENIOR PLYERS WILL SUPPORT HIM BUT BACK FIRED BY superstars like sachin bajji, ganguly dhoni, zahirkhan and agrakar,,,,

dravid is good captain he started winning 18 odis in chasing and but 2 superstars alwayes make sure team lost and dravid termed as not good captain.
dravid is playing for team cause, thatwhy still ahead of these 2 superstars in ICC ranking in oids as well as test. both ex captains are now in news to gain public symptathy
team ind early exit is b'cuz of some senior players lack of commitment, negative cricket and 2 ex cpatain's dirty politics in dressing room. Instead of supporting captain, both ex captain undermined his ability and when it comes to take blame for defeat never come forward. Even sachin's outburtst in media was not justified b'czu ndtv report never mentioned a single player name in particular
dravid accepted responsiblity but when ganguly was captain he neveraccepted responsiblitly for defeat. When team lost press brief were done by dravid as VC.
ricky ponting team is winning game b'cuz no players goes agaisnt team or captain or promote groupism
Dravid played under captaincy of sahcin and ganguly, he gave 100% commitment to team, socred runs when team was required against strong bowling attacks under pressure, building partnerships and stayed at wkt to finish match. Dravod dod promote groupism or HE TRUESTED SENIOR PLYERS WILL SUPPORT HIM BUT BACK FIRED BY superstars like sachin bajji, ganguly dhoni, zahirkhan and agrakar,,,,
Under tim mody SL is playing superb cricket None of senior player /ex captain m envied mahila%u2019s his promotion as captain From the outset they gave unstinting support. they remained hungry to perform and did not rely on reputation or popular support to protect their places.
ganguly's success as captain is b'czu of contributions of dravid sachin laxman kumble and sewag NOT CERTIANLY HIS LEADERSHIP QUALITIES LIEK takign out shirt, making opposition captain wait for toss, yelling at bowlers for loose balls, making funny face on field, argueing umpers etc..
DRAVID ANCHORED SUCCESS FOR GANGULY AS CAPTAIN DRAVID IS PILLAR FOR GANGULY SUCCESS IN ODIS AND TEST AS SUCCSSFUL CAPTAIN
BUT SELFISH OPPERTUNIST GANGULY BETRYED DALMIAY, DRAVID SACHIN
