Team India (Pepsi)

Do you think Pepsi will allow any of their guys to be thrown out of the Team. Even though most of them have been failures, can BCCI afford to do something like that

Yes there is a strong player/agent nexus in team selection there is news regarding this in Indiatimes. Also, check out the timing of Pepsi ads (all players who endorse the brand even when they are not selected) soon get into the team. Pepsi should be blacklisted as a sponsor.

According to 'Power Shift' by Alvin Toffler, future wars will be decided by MNCs operating in rival countries. During Siachen war with Pak, Pepsi and Coke did not release any ad favouring India, because they are present in both the countries. Pepsi may have to approve Indian cricket team composition.

Not only does Pepsi want the big guys to stay, the Board would not want them out either. The board may have development of cricket in its mind, but the money matter will trump everything else. There is a series of games that India plans to play against Australia in third countries. They will mean big cash. If the board axes big players, the revenue from moonlighting will dry up. No one will watch these games. Moreover, there is no immediate replacement for Sachin, Sourav, Rahul, Yuvraj etc.
On the other hand, India's mugging by BD may have deflated the value of the team already.
