If Sports..become profession...
by A. Swaminathan on May 16, 2008 01:59 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

The stress had made them worn out. If the sports becomes profession, then the professional stress and strain will affect their life. Only few players like henin takes right decision to leave ,at right time. Many suffer humiliation and retire after being pushed out..like many of our cricketers.

Not sure whether Henins decision right or a knee-jerk reaction.Personally i feel it is early as she is only 25.

Any other profession (ENG,MED,Software etc.)you can do at any age,but sports you can do only between 17-32.So unless there is severe injury top class sportsmen should not retire below age of 30.Aggassi was 37,Pete 33,Lance Amrmstrong won couple of Tour de France after 30 and that too as a CANCER SURVIVOR.

High pressure should not be a reason for any person (sportsman or others) to quit.As Bille Jean King said PRESSURE IS A PRIVILEGE FOR CHAMPIONS,HEROES,WINNERS!!!!!!

PRESSURE IS A PRIVILEGE FOR CHAMPIONS, HEROES, WINNERS!!!! Smart one liners are to treated at best as just smart liners and is not required to be applicable in practical. She knows best what she wants from life and where she is headed to. We should respect her for that. My best wishes to you Henin.
