I do not think we have any right to expect any performance from Indian team. We do not give them any financial help, never provided any infrastructure facilities (there are hardly any astro turf in India, while all the tournaments abroad are on astro turf). The hockey players do not get any adulation from the country whatsoever when they win Asia cup etc, no money and no rewards whatsoever (they are rewarded like beggars when compared to Cricket U19 team). I think it is unfair to criticise them when they lose. Let's be practical, expect rewards in proportion to the passion with which we cheer our players.
