The ban might prove tricky
by Saifadam Pathan on Mar 07, 2008 11:29 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

It is a good initiative Sepp makes, but the wordings of the ban and the implementation will be tricky. There should also be a ruling to protect defenders from diving tactics of some mischievious footballers.
How about banning diving tackles to be more precise?

Secondly, it is going to be almost impossible to implement this fairly. We will unnecessarily see players from smaller teams sacrificed while say a Rooney will be let go scot free. After all, we are all used to referees having different sets of rules when judging a Man Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal/ Real Madrid etc player. So this initiative is not practical
