Two things r responsible for India not getting any gold medal, and getting only one or two other medals. One is govt apathy to games. Most of the politicians r busy in making money, without any interest in sports.
The other is the craze of the countrymen for the useless and time consuming game cricket. This craze has been built by the media over a long period of time. Cricketers earn crores of rupees without any challenge, as very few countries play the game and India is not no 1 even in this group. Whereas players of other games do not get even basic equipments and facilities.

I agree Ram, like to add that our culture itself is pathetic towards sports in general. We like cricket because it is more a gamble then sports.

yes hockey players fo by train beat tat and people preparin for olympics have run down shady facilities and we want them to win medals ,lol this country was always a joke and we call aussies cheaters when the win cricket and 200 gold medals at the olympics
