India in the Olympics

The biggest disease infesting Indian sport (apart from cricket) is that worthless people, absolutely unfit fellows elbow their way into the selection camp, using devious means, their influential and powerful connections and get themselves selected. This nonsense starts even at the school level during which selection to some non-descript tournaments, able players are replaced with junkies. The same is the story at the higher levels. The result is there for all of us to see.
Boys and girls who know they don't deserve to be selected, should voluntarily give way to the more deserving.
Then comes the question of infrastructure and importance that is given to sports in schools. The present education structure whether it is CBSE/State/ICSE etc, has only not much space for sports and fitness related aspects in education. The affiliation to the schools are given without any thought of whether any sporting facilities and sufficient space is available in the school for sports. Studies seem to take 99% of the curriculum.
All this has to change if anything is to be achieved in the world of sport.
