Olympics
by Krishna on Apr 17, 2008 11:35 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Olympics in 1956, 1972, 1976, 1980, 1984 were boycotted by several nations for reasons ranging from communist aggression, apartheid, cold-war egos. China successfully pressurized Canada during Olympics in 1976 to boycott Taiwan. Olympics and world Politics go together as it is the grandest stage of human get-together where disputes can be highlighted, and only a lame person will say Olympics should be free from politics. Who can forget the Munich Olympics where an unknown PLO(and it's leader Yasser Arafat) came to the limelight by stage managing the murder of 11 Israeli Jews.

There are no Indians worth mentioning who organise a protest against the brutal chinese oppression. A handful of Tibetans are left alone to make some noce. It is a shame on us that we do not orgainse or participate with the Tibetance.
Mr.Karat and Yechry must be given the torch to be taken during its sujourn in India. These shameful Indians will have a feeling of pride on India soil if they do it. They will be ready to run through the whole of India and the Indian goverment can save money for the security arrangement. Because the communist will bring their head hunting caqdets from Kannur, Kerala and roudy cadets from Kuttanad who prevented the farmers from using harvesting machines
