OLYMPIC TORCH
by damodaran mohan on Apr 09, 2008 02:06 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

If sports is mixed with politics it will be virtual beginning of death knell for all international sporting events including Olympics. This way any and every international sport events can be disrupted because almost every country carry such debatable baggages. France especially seems to be going overboard on the issue with their President trying to divert attention from his personal problems. What happened in France and Britain should be condemned by all right minded people. This way the Tibetans will lose sympathy of the Indian people in general who otherwise are quite sensitive to their cause. It is better that the Indian govt. and the Tibetans staying in India come to an understanding for a peaceful protests by Tibetans while allowing a smooth passage of the Olympic Torch in India. Tibetans must understand that India- China good relations will help their cause better .

yes i understand that sports should not be mixed with politics. but this is not politics. its about human lives. if a politician endorses this issue, doesnt mean that it is a political issue now. then if a scientist endorses this issue, will it become a scientific issue.

NO games, NO olympics is ever greater than the human lives.

you can raise human rights violation issue anywhere, be it political area, scientific area, sports area, fun area, whatever, wherever.
