As far as Indian govt is concerned, this is a border dispute between 2 neighbour countries. It doesn't wish to intervene because it doesn't want other countries to intervene its border dispute with pakistan govt. It is that Simple. Tibet is to China, what Kashmir is to India in world's perspective. Also, supporting Tibet now, will anger China and will endup disadvantageous to India in an event of conflit(war) with Pakistan. China will then make sure to support Pakistan which is a nightmare to our goverment. So how many of you understand this chess game? raise your hands! :)

No, I'm not a politician. And this is my personal stand on this issue - We should all watch/participate in olympics while solemnly expressing our concerns for Titebtans. But how do we express? Whenever we attend this olympic ceremony, we can all wear the black badge or something similar. That will express our concern stronger than sitting at home and boycotting the sport. I hope Bhutia changes his mind and actively support the game AND tibetan freedom, instead of passively boycotting the sportevent and sitting at home.

exactly... that makes sense. Mr Guatam you dont need to take a stand only for disrupting olympics.. will u sustain your stand and fight once the olympics is over and everyone will fall silent once again?

Human Rights bodies can slam IOC. I do not wish to mix sports with politics any day. Will you continue in the same spirit after the Olympics? You will see all falling silent after the event eventually. Anyways, China isnt a greater human rights violator than United States and the British in its colonial days.

right, china isnt the greatest human rights violator. the americans and the british are. give me an opportunity to protest.
olympics happened to be the greatest opportunity to protest against chinese brutalities. And so every one is using this opportunity.
To be very honest I%u2019m not against Olympics nor is every one here who are boycotting Olympics.
And one more thing, I don%u2019t think you read the article I requested you to read. Even if you have read it, I don%u2019t think you have understood it.
In the article I don%u2019t want you to read what the rights bodies says, I want you to understand the meaning of Olympics.
