I was implying that we ( as in the 'FANS' ) should raise our standards to celebrate sports idols. These Jacko's can never match up to the world standards. So Ignore them and focus on building our nation.
Indian middle class , specifically the people working and promoting the IT industry , are the true 21's century heroes. As a sporting nation , WE SUCK. We should learn to deal with it.

to Funmanu: celebrating intellectual coolies of the IT industry (myself included) as "the true 21's century heroes" is a bit stretching it.. how many of us can claim to be among the top 50 in the field we are in..

Fitness man. We lack fitness. This is the base and foundation of al sports. In the west fitness is given preference first and skill next. In indian it is the other way around. So unless the mentality of the midle class indian changes on fitness we will be fat slobs who cant run around when tested. Skill can only take you so far. Fitness fitness fitness....but sadly we will never learn.

It's also the fighting spirit which we lack. We balk under pressure everytime and fall apart. It's also a lack of motivation and drive. We are content with mediocrity and never aim for anything beyond that.

Fighting spirit? Isn't that the reason why our civilization has been raped regularly for the last 2K years?
We dont have it in our genes, face it man! Try to achieve with whatever we have.
