The match did not appear to be a high class game. In fact AC Milan maneuvered the game and made the play according to their strength & shortcomings. Nevertheless the first goal at the fag end of 1st half by Inzaghi through a Pirlo free kick was clearly handball. A referee of Fandel's stature should not have granted the goal. The goal shattered Liverpool and put them behind in the fight, not to play their own game, ultimately losing the trophy.
