this is just the beginning of the end of cricket.....just wait till the popularity of soccer kicks in...we just need to develop infrastructure of soccer stadiums in india..trust me cricket will be no where.

A great relief at this hour of sorrow, when our nation was put to shame by the rich cricketers in the recent WC. Hockey,being indias national game shoul atleast get its weightage and importance now.The Assn should think of bringing in foreign coaches now as in cricket and take the game to its glory.The game is virtually on the thresholdof death thanks to MrGILL, and an alround fresh look is necessary even at the Assn level as some sticky persons are still spending their life with Assn's money.India is looking for the day our team makes it to win the trophies as in the past when dedicated players like Mohd Shahid,Pillai Pargat,etc played their lifeout.Will the present team has the potentialand necessary training to repeat that? Heavens are not lost,call Ric Charlesworth and entrust the team to him, he will do wonders thru our boys. I congratulate the team fortheir display but it shudnt be regarded as revenge match, as the losses are our own making only.So Play right, win straight.

just have 5 world class soccer stadiums in each state.....broadcast live the matches between states.....make soccer a professional sport...you will see the popularity zoom.

lets see what happens.even i am seeing sudden change in indians.people are looking after football ,hockey, tennis,chess,golf and many other sports nowadays.
cricket will have to fight a lone battle for its survival in india in future.

you're kidding me. We have won 8 Olympic gold medals in hockey. Its not gained popularity for 70 years now.. you think anythings going to change?
Football is popular, but we cant play it. Bangladesh ranks higher in football than India. I think a lot of indians follow EPL and Champions league

I agree with you my friend Brijesh that now indians are looking at other games. But just watching games sitting in the home will nowhere improve india's global sport performance. Main problem is cultural of playing on ground is missing in Indian society. When that will happen believe me india will be on top.
