the followers of islam say (like a copy cat) god is created everything and he is omnipresent. these guys only then say god can not reside in idols. hinduism starts with the concept of infinity as written in kathoponishad. realization of this concept is beyond the comprehension of muslims. hinduism says this concept of infinity is there in our body and soul. this is BRAHMA. brahma, vishnu, maheswar, the gods of hindu trinity, have said time and again thru their incarnations, in partcular lord rama and lord krishna, this infinity, also called destiny, is a supreme power. hinduism started this concept of infinity which we read in our mathematics book and also in abstract philosophy.. it is difficult for any muslim to even have a simple understanding of what this concept is, since their minds are blocked. they have not even gone thru the first issue of koran written by the scholars of islam who were contemporaries of their prophet.

That is why hinduism is so tolerant and islam is not. It is a reflection of life and its myriad complexities, its highs and lows. Islam is simplistic and upholds only a single value namely brotherhood but otherwise it is spiritually deficient unlike hinduism. What you call contradictory is an appearance of the externalities of truth but when you probe deeper you will find a single truth. Islam does not have the intellectual or spiritual depth to comprehend these things and that is why it will always be just another religion and will not survive the future once man becomes more sophisticated and spiritual. The turmoil you see today is an indication of this incapacity in islam and not just some extremists taking over.
