In India Cong govt wants a federal agency for terror attcks but not any special anti terror law.....the argument is when in NDA regime we had POTA ,Parl attack happened and other terror attcks happened................
This defies logic.....suppose you have typhiod and doc prescrible a medicine of 250mg,and you are not cured......so what the doc will do........either he can stop the medicine or he can increase the dose of medicine......answer is anybody guess........
The reason for these conviction is due to TADA court...and Maharastra has MCOCA

glenn the problem with these laws is that as our police is corrupt, these laws are used against innocent indians often without trial.
it is like giving typhoid drugs(500MG and more) to healty poeple who need food.

Dear Glenn, given your logic u seem to be impressive.
But on the other hand wat if the medicine is used on the people who do not acually have typhoid.
considering the encounter history of indian police and the fact that we all know about the working and credibility of our police. Does it really make sense to give such rights in the hands of them?

There is a panel of judges from high court who reviews each case.....and if any innocent is punished strict action provision are there for Police officials.........recently many IPS officer were sent to jail.........

I agree Glenn. Terrorism is a organised crime. It has to be dealt differntly. Terrorist cannot be punished with normal Laws. These has to different provision for terrorism. They are experts. with normal law they can go unpunished.

POTA or TADA or any such law cud have been effective but in the hands of experts.
You can not just give the control of Airplane to the people who only know driving Truck that too with several accidental history.

get the fact out of the wat is told. I will give you example of 'Daya Nayak'.
you must be knowing about him... 4-5 films has been made on his life.
-Daya Nayak has been accused of numerous fake encounters. -You remember the news abt the terrosit killed in Gujrat accussed of planning to kill Modi and Advani, turned out to be a embridory man. He was too tortured and killed by Nayak.( worst thing is, wen he was encounterd media gave the full coverage on front page and wen his brother reopend the case only TOI published that and that too on 4th page side coloumn). -Daya Nayak has crors Rs. of Property in his and his wife name.
Still he was suspended and called back for duty with respect.
we all know the long process of our judicial system and how the things work.
there are numerous example like Vanzara, Rajbeer SIngh etc.
wat happend... nothing...
My dear the problem is with the rool and not with the branches of our Judicial tree.

See Daya Nayak is an encounter specialist not a TADA/POTA specialist.........Vanzara is still in suspension and case is there in court......R.P.sharma IPS is convicted and his serving in jail..........it is only for laws like MCOCA the mumbai police were able to crushed down Gangs...............

yes dear and i truly understand your concern.
But see again the problem is with the root. If u have read the link i sent you abt Assam you would see how wrongly that law is being used.
Wat i beleive personally, it is the time for the youth to understand what we really want to make this country. I have been visiting this discussion board for abt 2 months and found the level of hatred between people of diffrent relegion, cast and states. The thing which make me upset the most is they all are educated.
Still they are being played as puppets in the hands of politicians and so called relegious scholars.
