The illicit arrack tragedy issue is snowballing against the BJP who is seen as supporting the IFML lobby. Alcholism has not stopped is evident by increased revenue collections. IFML have steeply increased their prices so the poor gets poorer. They turn to cheaper substitutes like illicit arrack.
The tragedy will definately stir popular rage against the BJP. How big, will be sealed in the ballot box tomorrow.

Completely agree with you. Janardhan poojary has completely gone mad. He was Finance minister of India (when Indira Gandhi was PM). If you listen to some of his statements which even a primary student will realize are wrong.

Why should government manufacture or sell liquor? It is not the govt's job. If people want to drink they can do so with branded alcohol. Some company can even start manufacturing a cheap liquor. But it should not be govt's business.
Controlling illicit arrack is govt's business. I think people will also stop drinking it after this news. Probably govt can provide test kits to these manufacturers and collect tax from them.
Legalize the small business of brewing alcohol based beverages as a local business.
