Wise stand
by Vishwas Vinayak Murhekar on Mar 23, 2008 09:25 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

It is a stand taken in complete wisdom by the Indian government. We cannot afford to take sides when our own house is not in order. Moreover, by inheritence, we do not have political will for such indulgence nor we have enough resources at our disposal.

You are wrong, we need not grovel before the Chinese as it is being done now. Consider this:

1. China still regards Aunachal Pradesh as disputed territory.

2. Have grabbed Aksai Chin and also received another part of occupied Kashmir as a gift from Pakistan.

3. Have refused to recognize that Sikkim is an integral part of India.

4. Have armed and abetted Pakistan in its adventures and misadventures against India.

Still we should grovel before the Chinese?

Better to encourage the seperatist movements in Tibet and Sinkiang [where the ethnic Uighur people are demanding independence]. If these two provinces become independent, then we will have a buffer between us and China and we need not worry about the threat from China.

One has to be practical and not again descend to all those sentimental silliness of "Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai" type.
