Strategy

I feel whole Jinnah episode is a strategy. In certain sense I really appreciate RSS & BJP's plan. Advani purposefully went to pakistan and that too Jinnah Mousoleum and purposefully made a controvarcial statement. Advani, who is always famous for think twice before talk one word, will not shoot his foot like that. It was well thought out strategy.

Because until then Vajapayee was moderate leader and use to get a criticism from hardcore hindutva followers or conservatives. Advani was hawk and use to get criticism from liberals. Because Vajapayee is both old and poor health he has to retire. Obviously next possible and deserved leader is Advani because he is senior and well accepted with hardliners. But the problem is liberals. So to appease liberals and get an acceptance from NDA partners Advani made such controvercial remarks. As planned RSS opposed him strongly and made him to resign so that he get some sympathy too from liberals and non-BJP voters. As dust settles they made him PM candidate.

So Advani is taking Vajapayee's sandals. But the question is who is taking Advani's sandals? Who else other than Modi? He proved himself as hawk & leader, successful in arousing people's emotion & winning elections, and development hero.

Earlier the idea was I guess Vajapayee-Advani, Advani-Mahajan, and Mahajan-Modi. But now after sad demise of Mahajan it is Advani-Modi. Also it could be a ploy to silence other jumping leaders to support Modi. Because Advani is already 81.
