Dalai Lama is no Saint
by Astute Analyst on Mar 19, 2008 08:07 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Many of us have a plenty of misconceptions about Tibet's history. Tibet is certainly a region with a culture that is distinct from Han China (the thickly populated eastern part). However, historically, China had stronger links with Tibet than India. Chinese communist forces occupied Tibet and the morality of the occupation is disputed. But the old Lama order in China was a feudal order full of oppression of the ordinary peasants. US supported Dalai Lama and conferred Nobel prize on him only because CIA needed an agent against the communist China during the cold war. If tomorrow, Tibetans want independence and a democracy, I have no problems except that it risks being another failed state in Asia like Bangladesh. But no civilized person will advocate the return to the medieval rule of Dalai Lama. Any Indian's blood should boil with the atrocities committed by Lamas in the name of Buddhism, a noble religion originated in India.

China is committing genocide, which is the biggest cruelity on humanity. It is not allowing any reporters to go there so that they cannot report and show its cruelity to world.
It is like a Wolf and Lamb story read during school days. I think it was for China and Tiebet

Again this is a myth. China has committed no genocide in Tibet. This is all western propoganda. It is true that Tibet is getting modernised and Tibetans are not getting their due. But there is no genocide.

Astute,
If China is not doing anything wrong then why they are not allowing media to cover the news of happening. Why so much of restrictions?
Listen, if someone have correct intentions then he wont worry about anything because he knows he is not doing anything wrong. But it is not the same in Tibet. Chinese dont want anyone to know about the the happenings in Tibet thats why they are not allowing anyone so that they can cover up everything.

If non-violence mean medieval culture, then let it be. It is better than killing anyone blindly. More over who are you to advocate about the Tibetians. If they get freedom, then it is for them and every human have the right to live freely.
Tibet is forcefully taken over by China, and they have been asking for greater autonomy for past 5o yrs or more. It is not the same as Kashmir where the king decided to merge it with India, but Tibet always wanted to be free and independent country. I dont know from where this CIA is issue have come up. Tell me something, how much help Dalai Lama can provide to US? What power Dalai Lama has? nothing. he himself is exiled in India and US is seeking help from him, oh my god someone should give some brain to this Astute.
More over the matter of failed state, it is something you must know about. If you see the poor countries around the world, almost all the countries have failed to maintain democracy and India being an exception. You will find most of the poor countries are led be dictators.
Why not to open up your mind and think positively. Unless and untill Tibetians are given a chance how can they prove themselves.
