We should not support any terrorism . But we should strongly insist that the Tamils be treated fairly and be treated as equal citizens. At the same time the Tamils should be told that separatism will not be encouraged and that a united Sri Lanka is important. The West does the easiest and stupidest thing - balkanize countries whenever there is internal turmoil. We cannot allow that - the world is becoming smaller and more united gradually and people must learn to live together - of course as equal citizens.

I feel every problem could be solved if Sri Lanka becomes an autonomous Indian protectorate assuring Srilankans of soverignity of their day to day affairs, minimising their security costs, and then the Tamils would also have a safe area to live in. Having said that, I also agree that terrorism cannot be supported.
