Sharif%u2019s words are easier said than done. His plan has the logic of accountability but the result is highly debatable. Mush is no fool. His top man is the present Chief of Army staff, and not to forget he has a great deal of support form a lot of army officers and the ever present ISI, a point the present Chief of Staff cannot fail to ignore even if he wanted to. To %u2018bell the ISI%u2019 is only possible when the Army, Ruling Party, all Law Agencies and the Opposition are in unison, some thing most unlikely in Pakistan.

if the army chief can kick the elected PM, and asurp the power, the PM is only a dummy. he will have no responsibility and he cannot take decision on his own. in democracies, the people elect, their leaders. the civil servants and armed forces are appointed to uphold the constitution and the govenment. if people do not like the policies and execution, they remove them from power in the election or in the floor of the parmiament by the opposition if it gains sufficient strength. Indira Gandhi swamped to power after the bangladesh war and again was defeated in 1977 following the excesses of emergency. the civil servants and armed forces just did their job what was expeted of them. nothing more or nothing less. the very fact that the army chief can dismiss him and his continuance or dismissal is at the pleasure of the army chief is not a healthy state. that should be decided first before any one assumes office as the elected PM or President.
