The nuclear power is not harmless, Chernobyl like accidents are a possibility.
Hydro electric power - not good, too much environment is destroyed, people displaced. Wind power - at the mercy of Wind God, not much happening Solar or Hydrogen power - not yet economically available.
So, until Solar, Wind energy, or Hydrogen or some other green power source is made available, let us all go back to stone-age.
No transportation system to be used, no gas, no cooking, no additional electricity.
Use animals for transport, use telephone or internet for interaction / business.
Eat as much raw food as possible. Very healthy, keeps the doctors and medicines away.
Enjoy a stress free, healthy, and accident free life!

A long shot... what if the government were to divert a month's bill of the nation for fule consumption towards setting up solar power generation? Or, if we stretch it, what if it increases that outlay to 6 months fuel bill?
I think we can have more solar power soon. May be some solar energy experts could give some idea of how much it costs for 1MW of energy to be produced.
