firstly as the author has stated no party got the majority, so also , no coalition approved by the people, hunger for power makes politicians strange bed fellows, it is not good governance, betterment of masses, that is uppermost in their minds but clinging to power by hook or crook. when a coalition takes charge of governance the parties know that any one can topple the cart, tell me right, middle of right and extreme left dogmas how can they gel?what good policy can be framed where there is so much of difference in line of thinking. in such a case the coalition will still survive if there is still one point of control i.e the pm chooses his cabinet and the govt is run, what we see now is the president of 1 party is more powerful than the pm and the same person is chairman of the coalition, cmp is staying in power, the pm is just a stooge in the whole scenario, the cabinet ministers of diff parties give their own versions publicly no raprimands, what does such a pm do. mohana may be an excellent economist/person but in such a sceneario he is a misfit cause the president doesnot let him function, he has only two options one do what his master says secondly resign, the nation today has so many immidiate probs to be tackled, sadly, the govt is busy hunting for allies to save its skin. we as anation are so unfortunate to hve such petty minded polticians who can change their stance over night best example is mulla mulayam who now will gv support for his pound of flesh i.e blocki

At least the UPA-Left coalition problem cropped up at the end of 4 1/2 yrs. This is far better than NDA who put up daily soap operas - Maya, Jaya, Mamta etc tantrums, leaving, rejoining, leaving again for very trivial reasons
