We as a nation are thankless. Mrs. Gandhi can give herself a Bharat Ratna she can even manage to pull dignitaries because of her father's power and her son's power to be. Sam's father was a doctor in Amritsar and her daughters are not in the politics. Making him Field Marshal with no important status was in itself a incivility on the part of the polotical class. They are famous for being in civil. But the defense forces showed such attitude is something surprising and unbecoming of what they are. At the height of Kargil War few top officers of the Army were busy inaugurating a Golf Course. Where as Field marshal Sam Manekshaw was visiting Army hospitals encouraging wounded soldiers and consoling the families who have lost their bread earner in the war even Field Marshal K.M. Carriapa was standing for registering himself into the Army during 1962 China War, he was well past his retirement. Then why our present generations of defence personnel are thankless and are showing lack of gratitude?!

Your strong reply suggests that you are related to defense officers who have shown thanklessness towards a great soldier.

I feel that as long as the public has a sense of whats right and whats wrong, we can bet that that we are moving in right direction. As a human being we should not let the spirit of humanity, righteousness, respect for others die down. We understand that it is missing in most of the politicians and we cant do much about it, but we should not allow ourselves to follow in their footsteps. I feel that the moral values is degrading in the society day by day because that is why we are witnessing so many chilling murders, rapes and all the heineous crimes.
We should all keep the eyes of our soul open, otherwise the India it was will die down soon.
