needs to be renegotiated
by kieran dsouza on Jun 25, 2008 12:03 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Present govt is in a lame duck situation so should leave it to next govt ie, BJP to either renegotiate or scrap the deal altogether. Present govt has no policy worth mentioning. What is their oil policy? Oil is instrument of taxation. U pay 50% tax to state govt and center every time u buy petrol.

Now that oil has gone thru the roof, NOW they have to think of oil policy. Till then SUVs can be merrily driven, manufactured and imported.

Re nuclear deal some doubts:
1.Why they are so keen for India to go for nuclear energy but they dont use it much themselves?
2.what about our indigenous thorium nuclear energy from unlimited deposits in India itself?
3.What about nuclear waste disposal, effect on environment, radioactivity etc.

Indians are always short sighted, never think of consequences, always close the stable after horse has bolted. But at least it is never too late to THINK

1. With out nuclear energy, no power to run India.
2. Thorium tech will take another 10-15 years
3. Safe disposal protocols are well established.

Support N-deal
Be wise
