Nuclear plants are all( mainly) in Tamil Nadu, producing only 2 percent of electricity. It would be cheaper for the Tamils to import coal from Australia to produce electricity than to have nuclear plants Russia is willing to give nuclear plants( with safeguards) without 123 Treaty and is also prepared to give offshore nuclear plants ( without safeguards). India has enough natural Uranium, there is no need for India to beg natural Uranium from Australia. India is technologically self sufficient to produce nuclear fuel from natural Uranium. There is no need to beg these from USA.
123 Treaty means India will not be allowed to have nuclear weapons. This is the reason Man Mohan has refused to reveal the Deal with the IAEA, because India is about to sign that deal with IAEA as a non-nuclear weapons state.
There are much more important issues in India. Indian people are slowly dying because of inflation and quickly from devastating floods. But this unelected PM is not interested, he is a traitor, he must be removed.

Dipak Bose i hope u are not a bengali ! after all they are expected to be factual as much as intellectuls. Your commects seems far from facts ! 1.123 has no restiction on India neuclear weapon programme. 2. It only wants India not tou use the neuclear stations that we build on some else money and uranium be used for making distructive neuclear weapons, 3. Why on earth does a poor country where millions still libe in poverty requires neuclear weapon, other than hyprocracy. 4. Commies are more worried of funds from china i think. If they want to support china let them go and get the chineese to not intrude in indian soil and boast. 5. US may not be the best Strategic Alley for India but with Dictorship china breating down our neck it is imp we have Bldy Americans on our side you like it or not

When will to Congress stooges be able to see the obvious? We are submitting to the jurisdiction of an internal law of the US (The Hyde Act) for eternity by signing the 123 Agreement. A party which has no majority of its own in the Parliament should not bind a country of a billion plus to the jurisdiction of another country (for whatever may be the gain - for country itself or to a few politicians)

Please explain to me how on earth at this time we can forget communists. They appear to be holding the trump card at this moment by threatening to derail the whole deal. One cannot pray to God that commies get some good sense, but commies are a bunch of atheists and god does not figure much in their scheme of things. Unfortunately, the commies appear to be taking their orders from China. China will do anything to ensure that India does not get a proper nuclear deal from USA.
Our energy requirements are increasing day by day and the answer is not more fossil fuel burning - coal is a fossil fuel for your information and has associated environmental issues which I am sure you are aware of.
I am not against procuring nuclear know-how from Russia - I hold friendship with Russia at high esteem - after all, they had stood by us steadfastly in the past when US did not. But first we should get the deal through with US and then additionally turn towards Russia so that any one country cannot hold us to ransom. If we turn to Russia first the deal with US may not go through, whereas Russia has no such precondition.
The commies should think of the nation for once; they have already done enough harm. If their loyalty rests elsewhere, we should outlaw the Communist Party.

123 and hyde act are created by congress, to satisfy the pak lobby in washington. They are only advisory,not binding on a president directly elected by the people. India will always have the freedom to opt out and face the consequences. American corpos who will associate with nuclear plants to be built in india will lobby in india's favor. Russian uranium, nor Australia's can be received without IAEA approval. Commies want india to be tied only to iran-gas, via pak, very dangerous in the long run, most western investments in india will wind up and quit, if energy supply is firmly placed in the hands of their enemies. Commies want only public sector non-worker industries for their partymen, only impoverizn of all people and the govt to go broke, only their own leader families to prosper and remain emperors for life..
