People have misplaced faith on the political parties in TN. If DMK and AIADMK have no real development plans for the state and are more inclined towards cheap populist measures and schemes to temporarily please the average gullible voter, Congress is a non-entity in the state, though a little better than the fungus like sprouts calling themselves as political parties.
The BJP and the Communists count for nothing in the state politics.
To expect that the likes of Vijayakanth or Sarath Kumar or even Rajanikanth will alter the destiny of the state is sheer delusion.
One really sympathises the politics of the state in general and the future of the populace of the state in particular.

Your expectations are so high. I say high because TN is still one of the top most states despite certain flaws in the political system. Going by your yardstick how is the BJP or Cong at the central level any better? Both DMK and ADMK by themselves are proven administrators- although of late DMK is unable to get past the first family and extended family. Only the emergence of casteist fringe groups has made the scene murky. Get rid of all the 1-10 MLA parties including your captain. We need solid 2-4 party system, not a gathering of 30 parties supporting and pressuring the big two!

All Tamilians, throw this karunales DMK in Rameshwaram to find the proof of Ram, then only the state will be blessed with development.

This is the problem with us tamilians. Still believing the cine life is real life. No actor is going to safeguard TN. These actors, when they lose their glamour in the cine world, turn to politics because cinema and life are unfortunately mixed so much there will be mad followers. Even God cannot save TN.

Both Jaya and Karuna are proven politicians, they have had longer tenures in politics than their so called film careers. They are not fly by night politicians like some of the bollywood actors. And if Vijaykanth is serious let him work for it- wait 10 years go to Rajya Sabha and legislature and prove his commitment to politics before aiming for the CM slot. And that is precisely what the TN public expects from him. TN does not rewards shortcuts or family connections like what happens in Congress party.
