DMK Snapped Ties with PMK - A Right decision
by jamsheed basha abumohammed on Jun 17, 2008 08:16 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

DMK leadership has taken a right and bold decision in snapping ties with the unreliable ally PMK. Ramdoss is known to switch loyalty when the winds of change are visible. Now that there is widespread anger against the present Central Govt and so also against Karuna's Govt in the State, it was clear that he would switch sides. Towards this end, all his leaders logged horns with Veerasamy and others and openly critised some of the policies of the Govt that angered DMK. It is to be seen how the Congress and other allies react to this decision of the DMK. PMK is not known to be friendly with DMK especially in the Vanniyar dominated districts of Salem, Dharmapuri, Vellore and Kanchipuram, where they would like to dominate. Yet people like Veerapandi Armugam, a DMK Minister, who is also a Vanniyar himself, command sizable influence in Salem and adjoining districts. He is the only thorn in the flesh of PMK and with his influence he can do or undo for PMK. Some of the defeats of PMK candidates in Salem was attributed to him. There was no love lost between Arumugam and PMK leadership through out. It is this one upmanship that has ruined the alliance. In any case, DMK should have snapped ties long back and now that it has been done, all eyes would be on Ramdoss next move. He is certain to move towards AIADMK who is ready to welcome him with open arms.Already Vaiko is with Jaya and PMK would certain add to the strength of the alliance.Karuna being very clever himself could negate this.

I dont understand why people here say DMK govt is corrupt. The DMK Central ministers are not good. But, I feel, state govt is doing good ...any thoughts from people who live there...?

a d m k has not so far given any

signal to admit dr ramdoss with

folded hands rolling out a red carpet

to him, as was in the past.

better a d m k thinks twice

in doing so, since dr ramdoss will

give similar trouble after three years

to them too and get away with it

with absolute immunity.

JJ should NOT take Ramadoss in. In fact she must throw Vaiko also out. These people are parasites.

If ADMK did the same, Karuna could welcome PMK saying "We are tamils". So in politics, all can happen and Jaya wants to retain centre,so she will. PMK won't move out of center to ADMK as there is no immediate election. They want to enjoy the power. So no new alignment there.
It all depends on DMK. But DMK is also a cunning party and they will put cases against all PMK top guys and take them into DMK.
It all depends on how center performs. IF Jaya feels, it is not necessary, she wont take him and or otherwise, she will bargain hardly.
It is not the end and there may be reproach happen.
Please note that there is no difference b/w DMK,ADMK and PMK and all are same cunning parties and are oppurtunities. The game is not yet over
