Don't worry! In polit(r)ic(k)s there are no permanent bed fellows. Elections are round the corner. Hence realignment of forces is bound to occur since every party will make a Strength/ Weakness/Opportunities/Threats (SWOT) analysis of their own party as well as their bed fellows. KK must have felt that PMK will be a liability and hence deserted the party. Do not forget that he came out of Vajpayee govt before elections.

PMK is a 'KEEP" and Congress is a "Wife" for 5 years. DMK can afford to snap ties with "Keep" bt not with "Wife." DMK has been using "Keep" whenever required or just for pleasure. But "Wife" has its status at home. If he antogonises Wife, the marriage will collapse, for which he is not ready at least at this age. Sure he will not get a brideromm at this age.!
